National Library Week

Posted in Resources, Welcome with tags , on April 2, 2009 by bishoppaynelibrary

This year the Bishop Payne Library will celebrate National Library Week with a children’s book drive.  The NLW theme is “Worlds Connect,” and the Bishop Payne Library is connecting our world with that of 2 D.C. literacy organizations, “D.C. LEARNs” and “Everybody Wins.”

Like-new or brand-new children’s books will be collected in the library Tuesday, April 14 through Saturday, April 18.  These books will be donated.  IN addition, patrons who donate will have their library fines forgiven (we suggest 1 book donation per overdue item).  All forgiven fines will be totaled and that amount will be donated as well.

So get those children’s books ready to go!
