The next time you access the library catalog, you may see something new: pictures! That’s right, the library catalog isn’t just boring text anymore: now you can find pictures of many of the book covers. So, while we don’t necessarily recommend you decide what resources to use in your research based on their covers alone, it’s a possibility….
In addition to visual stimulation, you’ll also find some other great features to provide added value to your searches. The picture on this post is attached to Quantum Physics and Theology: An Unexpected Kinship, by John Polkinghorne. If you go to this record, you’ll see a link on the right side of the page that says “More Resources: Find Reviews, Table of Contents, and more at Syndetics.” When you click the Syndetics link, you’ll see an Additional Information page, with clickable links to the Table of Contents, Summary, and Author Notes (N.B.: You must allow pop-ups in your browser for these links to work outside of the library.).
The additional information available will vary by title, so check out some of your favorites, or visit the Featured Item Lists to see recent acquisitions (most of which have pictures and Syndetics attached). Take a look, and let us know what you think!
